As Always, Catching up!
Howdy!
So summer break started on the last Friday of May and I thought to myself, "Yes, I'm going to be able to work on all my craft projects and blog waaaay more....!!!", and sadly that has not been the case. We have been rather busy.
As most of you know, I have recently accepted a job teaching elementary school music back down on the South-side of Indianapolis. So, that means that Cory and I are trying to find a new place to live, as well as, find someone to live in the apartment we are currently living in. We are having to break our lease VERY early, so if we don't find someone we're going to have to pay an arm and a leg. Soooooo, if anyone knows someone that needs a nice apartment here in Lafayette, PLEASE LET US KNOW!
On to some more exciting things. Here are some fun pictures to catch you up:
I have had a little time to work on finishing my scrapbook of my time in Australia. I miss everyone there quite a lot, especially all the lovely ladies I was so blessed to get to know! Excited to get to skype with Hollie come Tuesday!!!! xoxo
Here are pictures of just a couple of the pages I've completed. I hope to have it ALL done by the end of the week so I can get started on the wedding scrapbook. :)

Here are a couple of birthday gifts I was given! Super excited for all of them! They've all been put to use! The Pioneer Woman is my FAVORITE!
Now, as many of you know, Cory's parents put up a new barn on their property, so we drove down to Greenwood last Saturday so be there for the finishing touches. As always, I had to get some pictures of Copper. It was pretty humid and hot so he took refuge in the garage most of the day.
Poor hot dog coming out to greet us! :P

Karen's flowers are looking great!
More flowers! Yea summer!

Catching Up... Yet Again
So ladies and gentleman, I am catching up on this blog yet again. We have come to our last week of school starting Tuesday and things have been pretty busy.
Let's now go back in time a couple weeks......
I am definitely looking forward to having some time this summer to work on my list of projects. My first little glimpse of crafts was the birthday card I made for one of my lovely co-workers Jaime. I thought it turned out cute!
Then, I also bought a new sewing book that has some nice ideas I could quickly make for different gifts for friends and family, as well as, a tote for my sewing odds and ends.
Next, Cory was in our cousins Katie and Harold's wedding, so we were back in the Indy area for that weekend. I took a couple pictures of the decorations at the rehearsal dinner. Katie did such a great job, I've got to show off her work just a little!
It was a beautiful wedding, I'm sure she's letting out a big sigh of relief not that it's over! :)
Now jumping to today. Before heading to church this morning I stepped outside to check on my plants and I found two little green tomatoes! So excited! I can't wait to see them when they are all grown!
Have a blessed rest of your Sunday!

Happy Mother's Day! '14
Woo, it has been a while since I have had a chance to blog! Last week Cory and I were back in Indy for bachelor and bachelorette parties for his cousin Katie and Harold who are getting married this next weekend. It's going to be busy busy busy!
Some other exciting news is that my first tomato plant is doing great! This first photo shows the first little yellow bud that sprung last week....
Now, here's the photo from today! Look at all the little flowers!! YEAH!!!
Ok, I might be a little over the top excited about these little buds, but ladies and gentlemen they = TOMATOES!!
Now, since it is Mother's Day it is only right to post a couple photos from our wedding with some of the lovely mother's in our family!

Weekend Projects
Happy Weekend All!
I had a fun weekend of projects! Thanks Katie Boyd for running around and picking things up with me.
Began the weekend off with some planting while my husband was at the NRA Annual Meeting Saturday. Cory and I were able to get my tomato plant going and I planted the hosta in it's pot when he was in Indy.

Hosta and Friends! Aren't they cute?!
Since Cory and I couldn't go up to Chicago to visit our cousins Chad and Kirsten since he had the NRA meeting, we had our cousins Katie and Harold over. Katie stayed the day and ran around Lafayette with me, while Cory and Harold went to Indy for the meeting. She also helped me pick out the Hosta! I'll admit though, if it wasn't for Katie I might have bought more, the flowers looked to wonderful. I can't wait to have a yard so that I can have a veggie garden and flower garden! :)
Oh! I almost forgot, we received a cute postcard that was from my sister Cassandra who is studying abroad in Germany. She was able to do a bit of traveling around before classes started. This card made me smile since I spent almost a year in Australia.
:)
Cory and I then ended the evening (once he got back up to Lafayette) with some popcorn that I made with my new Whirly Pop! Shout out to Nancy Blackwood who taught me how to use one and make some pretty scrumptious popcorn!
Some of the best popcorn ever!
First you put in the oil (amount depends on how much popcorn you're making.
Measure out how much you need.
Oil in first, then the popcorn kernels.
Let it heat up and start turning!
Once it becomes hard to turn, take it off the heat and open it up!
Looks perfect!
Then today when we got home from church I caught up on a bit of baking. I am very grateful to have a KitchenAide, I don't have to do as much, the machine does it. :P
My first bit of baking was making up a new batch of caramel sauce. I found it on Pinterest when Cory and I were visiting at his parents house a couple weekends ago. It is SUPER easy to make and it tastes really nice on ice cream and in coffee.
Butter, Brown sugar, salt, water and heat'er up! Let it boil for 3-5 minutes!
Take it off the heat and add evaporated milk and vanilla!
AND THEN................DONE!
Voila!!!
Jar it up and put it in the fridge! They did say to put it in something plastic if you want to put it in the freezer.
I just love Ball Jars, so pretty!
Beautifully risen yeast!
Add in some more ingredients and GO!
Let that rise for a couple hours......
After punching it down and letting it rest, I cut it up and starting rolling. Now you know you're a teacher when you take the picture and see a face and it's not what you had intended at all. :)
Braid it up
Cover it up for an hour to rise and pull it out, now time to go in the oven.
Cover them in egg wash.
Bake and YUM!
Homemade bread it so pretty!
Now to end, a lot of you have been wanting to see some pictures of our new apartment for the next year. Well, we still have the spare room that is going to be the craft/workroom and it is still under construction, but here are some pictures from the rest of the place.
Kitchen
Living Room
Hallway
Front door
Dinning
Porch that sadly flood every time it rains. It's like having a person pond. :P
Full bath
Walk in closet
Then in our bedroom we have a toilet and vanity, which is quite nice.
God bless!
